Iconic ice cream brand Ben & Jerry’s launched its Australian store franchise opportunities with a taster in Sydney.

Potential franchisees turned up to hear what makes the famous chunks and swirls sweet treat outlets a success.

Brand manager Johnny Hammond told Franchising that creating an experience for the customer is part of the franchisee’s role.

The key saying for us is ‘if it’s not fun, why do it?’ It’s integral that these guys take that on board and also take on the social mission side as well.

We have a strong social mission and a strong social position, and we’re really focused on giving back to the community and helping people build businesses.

Ben & Jerry’s, which is owned by the Unilever group, opened a company store in Sydney’s beach suburb, Manly, last year.
