Beds for Backs offers a health range that can optimise sleep and spinal health. ThereÕs a solution for everyone but we excel in helping customers with specific needs such as those with lower back pain, shoulder or hip pain, rehabilitation after surgery, partner disturbance and snoring.
What are your goals for the next 12 months?
To set up a national retail network with franchisees in each state across Australia. To educate the general public about back health, its relationship with sleep and the best beds for health and well-being.
How old is the company and when did you start franchising?
Beds for Backs recently celebrated a decade in business and has seven company stores.
How many franchises do you have?
None yet. We are hoping to appoint 15 during 2010 and 2011.
What are the start-up costs for a franchisee and what working capital should they have?
Costs are from $300,000 but vary from region to region. This includes a turn-key set-up and operation with full training and ongoing support.
What is the length of agreement?
One five year term with one option to renew for a further five years.
What are the royalty fee and marketing levy?
Six percent and four percent respectively.
What skills does the franchisee need?
Passion for the brand and this patented system that supports all backs and body types — researched and developed in Australia. Franchisees need people skills, to be motivated and optimistic, and with a strong financial base to fund their ongoing business operations.
What will you teach them?
We will teach franchisees the patented technology of the Beds for Backs Spinal Optimisation System where each customerÕs bed is tailored to their individual needs. Franchisees will receive thorough product knowledge of their exclusive products as well as those of major competitors. They will also be taught our highly successful sales process, effective administration systems, sales training and more.
