Ready Steady Go Kids’ newest franchisee, Blair Ivens, will be launching his children’s multi-sport business in the Gold Coast this month.
A passionate sportsman and father of two, Blair has extensive experience in hospitality and owned and operated four restaurants in his homeland of Canada but had a desire to follow a different career path.
“When I moved to Australia I wanted to pursue a career I could be passionate about,” he said. “Coming from a sporting family I was involved in sport from an early age and when I discovered the Ready Steady Go Kids program, I knew instantly this was the perfect opportunity.”
The program is aimed at children from two and a half to six years old with a goal to develop and improve gross motor skills, eye-hand coordination and balance.
Participants are encouraged to create positive attitudes towards exercise with the following 10 different sports available: athletics, Aussie rules football, basketball, cricket, golf, hockey, rugby, soccer, T-ball and tennis.
Blair explains that “the student to instructor ratio is at maximum six to one,” and “this allows kids, regardless of skill level, to feel like an important member of the team. Even the quietest, least developed child won’t be left out of the fun and development aspects of the program.”
Program sessions will start up at West Burleigh and Southport Parklands and Blair plans to expand the business across the Gold Coast area into Nerang and Tweed-Coolangatta regions.
