The Aussie Farmers Direct delivery franchise is taking a stance against the foreign-owned milk supply in Australia, investing $5.45 million in the launch of a new company, Aussie Farmers Dairy.
According to the company, more than 90 per cent of fresh milk consumed in Australia is supplied and controlled by foreign owned companies.
The launch of Aussie Farmers Dairy is the first in a series of ‘Aussie Fight Backs’ aiming to provide Australians with 100 per cent Australian owned, grown and produced goods.
Aussie Farmers Dairy will redevelop the former Bonlac Factory at Camperdown in NSW, creating a new dairy processing and bottling plant for the supply of 100,000L of Aussie Farmers Direct branded, 100 per cent Australian milk. The milk will be sold by the franchise’s local network of ‘milkmen’ across the country.
“At the heart of the company’s core values is connecting the farming community to Australian households and creating and fostering rewards and opportunities for everyone,” said Braeden Lord, CEO of Aussie Farmers Direct.
“With so much of Australia’s fresh milk in the hands of foreign ownership, Aussie Farmers Dairy will benefit local dairy farmers by giving them a greater choice of buyers, support local jobs and give Aussie consumers the choice of a 100 per cent Australian owned and produced milk.”
Aussie Farmers Dairy will source, produce and supply Victorian milk to Australia’s eastern seaboard states, initially to consumers across Victoria, NSW and the ACT.
