Danks Holdings Ltd, AustraliaÕs hardware and garden centre group, has donated funds of $1 million to mark its 150th anniversary this year.

The donations will benefit a vast range of community groups and charities — local country fire associations, animal rescue shelters, surf life saving clubs, and national charities including Vision Australia, National Breast Cancer Association — all of whom have touched the lives of DanksÕ member retailers Home Timber & Hardware, Thrifty-Link Hardware and Plants Plus Garden Centre retailers, suppliers and staff in some way.

“This is a challenging time of year for many Australians, and we recognise that itÕs the charitable groups in every community who are working extra hard to help them through the season,” said DanksÕ managing director, Graeme Danks.

The donations are being made via The Danks Trust, a philanthropic trust established by Danks to provide funding to charitable organisations and projects across Australia.

Many of the retailers and suppliers also opted to match the donation, creating an even bigger gift for their chosen charity.
