The make your own lunch business MYO has linked with Diabetes WA dieticians to provide a new level of healthy eating options with special menus now available in each of its stores.

At MYO Byron Smith said Importantly for people living with diabetes or at risk of developing type 2 diabetes there are ideas on hand to help them make healthier choices. All people need to do is look for the sun in store or online for the healthy menu choices.

Diabetes WA CEO Liz Benson said that healthy food choices are critical for those living with diabetes and those at risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

When there are 275 Australians developing diabetes each day and over $900 million spent on diabetes treatment each year, it really drills home how prevalent diabetes is in Australia.

We’re happy to partner with MYO and are pleased to see them offering healthy menu choices to make a difference in this important area. Maintaining a healthy weight, doing regular physical activity and following a healthy eating plan can reduce a person’s overall risk by as much as 90 per cent.

Byron Smith said this partnership follows one recently announced in Queensland. Community health initiatives are a natural progression for MYO as healthy food and lifestyle is our business.
