A sushi wholesale business in the Pacific Retail Management portfolio has entered voluntary administration.
Pacific Retail Management is the franchisor of Go Sushi, Kick Juice Bars and Wasabi Warriors. It also distributes sushi products to outlets around the country under the banner of Sushi Ginza and has supplied un-branded product through the Sushi Tribe company.
An administrator has been appointed to the Sushi Tribe business which has now ceased trading and the first meeting of the company’s creditors will be held on 26 November, reports SmartCompany.
Sushi Tribe supplied both fresh and frozen sushi rolls and there were plans to franchise its commercial kitchens before the parent company bought in the branded Sushi Ginza business which supplies outlets including major and independent supermarket chains.
Kate McMahon, marketing manager at Pacific Retail Management, told FranchiseBusiness, “This administration doesn’t affect any of our retail, franchise or distribution business, nor our IP.”
