Lock N Leave

Sarah Stowe

If you’re always looking for somewhere to leave your valuable when you head off to the beach, youÍll appreciate the concept of this mobile system: a portable locker unit for the beach. There are 300 compact lockers on a Lock N Leave trailer _ perfect for house and car keys, a wallet, mobile phone, handbag _ and customers pay up to $10 a day for usage. Importantly the franchisors will  secure council approval for the locker trailer to be sited at a beach _ the franchise is territory based, with hours to match surf patrol hours and trailers to be sited near safe-to-swim flags.

We have a good relationship with police and surf life saving clubs, explains franchisor Ron Latham. Operators will need child protection clearance, and a police check.

The unit comes complete with trailer, training, marketing and advertising and beach site locations.

Points of difference:
Niche product: first branded unit of its kind.

Long term prospect:
one five year term has three options to renew for a further five years.
