Eager to run her own business yet also after a brand that would offer both initial and ongoing support, Evangelia Kayrouz invested in a Get Threaded franchise.
“Get Threaded interested me for many reasons,” she says.
“I really loved that they are the only company in Australia to take the time to develop a nationally accredited course to tie in with their training and business offerings, and the fact that they hold the copyright for this was a big point of difference for me.”
NEVER A TYPICAL DAY
Despite running Get Threaded Top Ryde for nearly two years, Evangelia says no two days are ever the same.
“My days are always different which is what I love. I begin my week by planning my strategies and goals for the week, I then follow up on staffing and business enquires.
“At the end of the week I review my work and see what has been successful and what I can work on improving for the week ahead,” she explains.
DUE DILLIGENCE
Evangelia wouldn’t change the way she went about the due diligence process, and advises potential franchisees take their research seriously.
“Do your research and write a list of things you are looking for in a business. Keep this in mind for when you are investing in a franchise,” she explains.
“Use this list to cross off things that might not match and fine-tune what you are looking for. Make sure you believe in what you are doing!”
TRAINING AND SUPPORT
When Evangelia joined Get Threaded, she was particularly surprised by the quality of its systems.
“Everything had been thought of and trialled and systems put into place, so I found it easy to use these items in my business every day,” she says.
She is also a big believer in the brand’s training. “I have loved all the training I received as a franchisee.
“Not only the service and product training but also the business and franchisee training. It has been very through and systematic so that it is easy to follow and incorporate into my business practices,” Evangelia
IMPROVED SKILLS, CONTINUED SUCCESS
Evangelia believes franchising has changed her life for the better. “It has given me the opportunity to excel in business more than I could imagine,” she says.
“Not only have I increased my skills in the beauty industry but also as a business owner. Being my own boss has allowed me to enjoy a flexible work/life balance and meet heaps of like-minded people.”
In addition, her Top Ryde franchise has been nominated for a number of business and customer service awards.
Evangelia’s goals for the business are firmly based around her people – both customers and staff, and she says she would definitely invest in the brand again.
“[I want] to be able to provide quality beauty services to the public, to offer a workplace where staff love to be and have a profitable business that assists with future investments.”
