The Coffee Club franchise has brought elite hand cyclist George Kambouris one step closer to his 2012 Paralympic dreams by offering a generous sponsorship commitment that will aid him with the expense of his training and equipment.

Co-owner of The Coffee Club Group and Public Relations Director, John Lazarou, said they were proud to offer financial assistance to one of the countryÍs elite athletes. “The Coffee Club has a generous local and national sponsorship program,” said Lazarou. “We would love to see George in three years time on the world stage at the Paralympics and hope our sponsorship helps to make his dream come true.”

Kambouris was born with Spina Bifida, but that hasnÍt stopped him realising his sporting ambitions. He was recently named 2008 Queensland Hand Cyclist of the Year at the Cycling Queensland premier awards, and endures a rigorous training schedule, taking only one day off per week.

“When I found out they were keen to sponsor me I was thrilled,” said Kambouris. “Now I can concentrate on my goal of reaching the Paralympics and wonÍt have to worry about the financial side of things, which in this sport can be very costly. I canÍt thank them enough for their support. No-one has stepped in with such a generous offer like this before.”
