Pie Face takes on pizza

Australian bakery-caf_ chain Pie Face has entered the pizza market with the release of its first ever pizza product, the Pieza.

The chain has launched two new varieties, both of which are designed to offer a modern take on the traditional pizza.

The Mediterranean Vegetarian combines kalamata olives, diced tomatoes and onion on a tomato base, topped with basil.

The Pepperoni Pieza is comprised of pepperoni salami and diced tomatoes on a tomato base, along with a cheese and rocket topping.

The company’s decision to include pizza in its product offering reflects its desire to hone in on Australians love of the popular Italian cuisine.

Pie Face CEO Wayne Homschek CEO said the pizza products signal a new direction for the bakery.

“Pieza is another delicious, gourmet option for our Australian customers from a trusted bakery brand.

“At Pie Face, we are continually seeking out unique offers for our lunch and dinner crowds that are ‘better for you’ than many other options in the marketplace, and those that complement our bakery caf_ heritage,” he added.

The new pizza products will be available in 73 of Pie Face’s stores located across Australia.
