A New South Wales couple have taken out two business awards just five months after opening a Spar supermarket franchise in West Kempsey.

Geoff and Sue Bryon won the Business of the Year in the retail category, and the overall Outstanding Business of the Year award in the Macleay Argus Business Awards which are based on customer voting.

The pair however are not new to supermarket trading, switching after 11 years their 5 Star branded supermarket for the Spar franchise, the 78th store to open in Australia.

Geoff explained “We got help with store layout, branding, stock lists and specials as well as a lot of training on customer satisfaction.

“These awards just go to show that if you’re prepared to invest in your business and its future, you will reap the rewards.”
