Wendy’s adds iPhone app to hotdog treat

Food treat franchise Wendy’s is celebrating the annual return of its Shake ÔnÕ Dog deal by launching a special iPhone App — a game called Never say no to a Shake ÔnÕ Dog.

Todd Duthie, WendyÕs general manager of marketing said “Our Shake ÔnÕ Dog promotion — which includes a regular WendyÕs Milkshake and regular Hot Dog — has long been one of WendyÕs best sellers. This year weÕve added two exciting elements which will enable our franchisees to offer their customers even more value.”

The $6 promotion includes a nodding dog gift, a replica of the WendyÕs Chihuahua, and a new iPhone App that customers can download for free from the iTunes App store. Customers can post their scores online and go into a draw to win a yearÕs supply of WendyÕs ice cream.

Todd said digital marketing would be a strong part of the ongoing promotions campaign.

To boost winter sales, three Hot Choc Shakes and four new flavours of scoop ice cream are also being introduced.
